Swim at Avon Beach, a sandy beach on the western edge of Christchurch Bay which stretches out towards Highcliffe. Avon beach recently received a Blue Flag award in recognition of high standards of cleanliness and water purity. With excellent facilities and easy access to the beach, including for wheelchairs, this is a great place to bring the family for a swim or to explore the coast. Lifeguard patrols the beaches in the peak season (Jul-Sep).
